Welcome to Bite Sized Kitchen!
Hi! I’m Aleka, founder of Bite Sized Kitchen, a party food blog dedicated to nothing but bite sized party appetizers, snacks and desserts!
I am a self-taught chef, recipe developer and party ANIMAL. Just kidding…But I DO love a good party. Especially when it’s all about the finger foods!! Cocktail hour anyone?
I also live in New Jersey (just outside of Philadelphia) with my husband Derek and our two crazy boys Calvin and Lucas.
My parents have owned a bakery/coffee shop for the past 35 years so I grew up in the kitchen. I worked there during high school and college and eventually became the chef and manager. Today, I am a full-time math teacher who simply enjoys creating and sharing new recipes in my “spare” time.
In addition to that, I am Greek and Yugoslavian. So it’s all about the food and music at our family gatherings! If you joined us on Easter, you would see my yiayia eating the eyeball of the goat we just roasted.
Because the best conversations revolve around food so why serve a large drawn out dinner that pulls you, as a host, away from that? With a fun appetizer spread and easy snacks laid out on the island, both adults AND kids can come and go as they please choosing what they like best. Best of all, your job as a host is to relax while your guests enjoy picking at the food all night long.
I would LOVE to hear any questions you may have about my recipes or hosting! I will try and get back to you as soon as I can!
I am the photographer, recipe developer and writer here at Bite Sized Kitchen!
